Experimental evaluation of non-contact ultrasonic thickness gauging method using spatial frequency filter in actual underwater environment

(in English) Thickness gauging of steel sheet piles used in port facilities is necessary to inspect performance deterioration due to shape changes such as damage and deterioration. For the maintenance of underwater harbor steel structures, an efficient and highly accurate thickness gauging method is desired. We have proposed a non-contact ultrasonic thickness gauging method using a spatial frequency filter and evaluated its performance by simulated experiments. In this paper, we evaluated the proposed method using data obtained in a real environment. As a result, it was found that this method is effective when the measured thickness of steel sheet is constant.
