[Invited Lecture] Upgrading of Network Maintenance using Bit Lossless ODU Path Protection Method

(in English) In the core/metro network, the capacity of traffic accommodated in the network is increasing and the traffic characteristics such as low delay and high reliability are diversifying. When transferring large capacity traffic with low delay, it is effective to transfer at a low layer using OTN, but no hitless switching path protection technology to improve reliability has been established. In this report, we show the feasibility study of the bit lossless ODU path protection switching technology, and the advanced maintenance method of optical network realized by combining ODU path protection switching technology and failure sign detection technology.
