This study investigates a noise reduction technique for sound signals that secretly transmit binary symbols via high frequency inaudible band. This study focuses on the possibility of a machine learning approach to design a denoising filter that decreases the unnecessary noises before the sound signals are fed into the classifier of symbol identification. This paper describes a pilot experiment evaluating the performance of our proposed technique that employs U-Net for the noise reduction. The experimental results indicate that the proposed technique may potentially improve the recognition accuracy of the symbol identification for inaudible sound communication systems. |
