This paper proposes a method of analysing noise-aided one-bit analog-to-digital converters for a multi-antenna receiver. One-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) have low power consumption and a potential to realize a high sampling rate. Given these characteristics, it is to be expected that one-bit ADCs are used in multi-antenna receivers.
Reconstructed signals from one-bit outputs show a nonlinearity that affects demodulation. To analyze the nonlinearity, this paper proposes the decomposition of a one-bit output from the perspective of stochastic resonance, the phenomenon that the performance of a nonlinear system is improved by noise. |
