A Study on Gaussian Belief Propagation for Sparse Superposition Code in Massive NOMA Detection

(in English) In this paper, we propose an iterative detection strategy of Gaussian belief propagation (GaBP) for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) channels constructed by plural sparse superposition codes (SSC). SSC is one of the powerful error-correcting codes that achieve channel capacity in Gaussian channels. However, the iterative detection sufferers from the ill-convergence property in wireless fading multiple access channels. Although SSC has excellent performance at low coding rates, GaBP's iterative convergence characteristics deteriorate as the coding rate increases, and an error floor occurs in the bit error rate (BER) performance. To alleviate this problem, belief is updated by the node selection method. Besides, we clarify the analogies and differences in terms of the code structure with sparse coded multiple access (SCMA), and then reveal the difference in BER characteristics by computer simulations.
