[Special Invited Talk] An initial study of seafloor optical wireless access/core network

(in English) Seafloor optical wireless networks will become necessary in the development of undersea exploration technologies such as underwater mobile probes, underwater radar, and underwater sensors. To efficiently accommodate multiple underwater wireless terminals, we propose a novel architecture of the next-generation seafloor’s optical wireless network consisting of two types of access and core networks. First, we demonstrate that two terminals can simultaneously connect in the access network. The numerical analysis shows the optimal placement of each terminal in multiple relay terminals for the backbone network.
