Dual-CTS for Heterogeneous Wireless IoT System: Throughput Evaluation of Multi-hop Communication

(in English) Due to the wireless progress of the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless sensor networks in which a large number of sensors are widely deployed have been spreading.
Since the transmission power and the communication range are small due to the restriction of the power supply, the utilization of multi-hop communication is assumed in the wireless sensor network.
In a dedicated area such as a factory, there is a serious problem that heterogeneous wireless systems using the same frequency band interfere with each other.
Especially in heterogeneous wireless systems with different transmission power, a hidden terminal problem and an exposed node problem become conspicuous.
For realizing interference avoidance under the condition of sharing time resources, we have already proposed the Dual Clear to Send (Dual-CTS) method.
In this paper, we evaluated the Dual-CTS method under the multi-hop network condition by using simple multi-hop communication model.
As a result of the evaluation, it is concluded that the throughput of multi-hop communication is improved by using the Dual-CTS.
