Efficiency measurements and comparisons for the class E rectifier circuit in AM wave

(in English) Energy harvesting is expected in infrastructure management and IoT (Internet of Things) as a battery-less power supply. The authors are coping with a proposition of a high-performance AM radio rectenna. This paper introduces a class E rectifier circuit in order to reduce the switching loss for a diode in high frequencies. We prototype the class E rectifier circuit, and the half-wave and the full-wave rectifier circuits for comparisons. Our experiment is to measure and compare a rectification efficiency among these circuits for the input of an AM modulated waves. In this experiment, we also check an effect on the efficiency with and without matching circuits to signal generator. We clarify thorough the experiment that the rectification efficiency varies according to the degree of modulation but independent of the modulation frequency.
