In terrestrial millimeter-wave communication, since the line-of-sight (LOS) and/or semi-LOS (SLOS) propagation environments become dominant, a propagation model that statistically represents such environments is required. Propagation models for the LOS/SLOS mixed have been studied in the field of land mobile satellite communications (LMSS), and a number of practical models were presented there. Among them, there is a Loo model applicable to SLOS environment, which is conceptually easy to understand its physical meaning, but is inconvenient in numerical calculation. Therefore, we will examine whether the Loo model can be replaced with a more easy-to-use model. Finally, future work will be shown to construct a practical model that is useful for system designing in 5G or beyond 5G. |
