A Mathematical Model for a Synapse Device Based on Spintronics

(in English) Recently, there is an increasing interest in a Spiking Neural Network (SNN) and Spike-Timing Dependent Plasticity (STDP), because of their brain-like spatio-temporal information processing scheme. On the other hand, non-volatile analog memories are necessary to implement the brain inspired hardware. These non-volatile memories are expected to reproduce the characteristics and dynamics of real synapses in the brain. In this paper, we propose and evaluate a mathematical model that describes the STDP-like characteristics and dynamics of a spintronics synaptic device based on the device temperature dynamics. We confirm through simulations that the proposed model would be useful for both circuit designs and SNN designs.
