(in English) Insulin secreted by $beta$ cells in pancreatic islets is involved in blood glucose regulation, and insulin secretion is closely related to their electrical activity (action potential).
The action potential shows a characteristic waveform called bursting.
Bursting has been analyzed using mathematical models, and has been shown to be related to various bifurcation phenomena.
Recently, It is considered that not only $beta$ cells but also other cells in pancreatic islets play an important role in regulating blood glucose levels.
In this study, in order to reveal the mechanism of blood glucose regulation by the interactions between various cells of the pancreatic islets, we analyze $beta$ cells focusing on input (external input current and blood glucose) and output (bursting).
We investigate how blood glucose level and external input affect $beta$ cells using a mathematical model of $beta$ cells including glycolysis system based on bifurcation analysis and fast-slow decomposition of vector fields.
