| (in English) | The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between performance and muscle synergies. In the experiment, the drawing task of the circle and the reaching task between two points were performed by the dominant hand and the non-dominant hand, respectively. In addition, the measured surface EMG (electromyography) was decomposed into a muscle synergy matrix and an activity coefficient matrix using non-negative matrix factorization. At this time, the transition of the VAF (variability accounted for) to the number of synergies was also compared between the dominant hand and the non-dominant hand. The results showed that in the case of the drawing task of the circle, the performance was higher for the dominant hand in terms of both accuracy and smoothness. In addition, the VAF after factorization was higher for the dominant hand, and it was found that the dominant hand was controlled by a small number of synergies than the non-dominant hand. From these two points, it is considered that in the case of the drawing task of the circle, the smaller the number of synergies, the easier the motion can be expressed, and the higher performance. | |
