Liquid sensing on structures embedded with hetero-core fiber optics

(in English) This study aims to hetero-core fiber optic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors implantable to structures for giving liquid perception on structures. In order to realize implantable, and mechanically robust fiber SPR sensors, they have to protect a brittle sensor portion against mechanical contact but be accessible for liquid to the sensor region. Therefore, the protective fiber channel with fast response and recovery was prototyped by covering polyester fibers as a filter. Through a series of experiments, it was confirmed that the proposed channel and the polyester fiber filter contributed to the reduction of recovery time in liquid detection.
