[Invited Lecture] Design of Broad-Slotted Waveguide Array Antenna Manufactured by Injection-Molding

(in English) This paper presents an broad-wall slotted waveguide array antenna manufactured by injection-molding suitable for a dual-polarized array antenna. A slotted waveguide array antenna is generally heavy weight and high cost caused by metal machining process. These disadvantages can be improved by resin-injection-molding. A resin waveguide is divided into upper and bottom components, these components are fastened using screws and boss structures. In order to make it possible to apply
the injection-molded slotted waveguide array antenna to a dual-polarized phased array antenna, the boss structures are needed to be pushed into the waveguide, which results in the degradation of sidelobe level. In this paper, we propose a novel structure which cancel the effects of the boss structures. We design an injection-molded slotted waveguide array antenna which has the maximum sidelobe level of -32.5 dB to validate the benefits of the proposed structure.
