Analyses of a meander dipole on a human phantom
Sota Tsuboi, Keisuke Noguchi (KIT) AP2019-177
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In order to design high-gain small antennas mounted on human skin, we analyze a meander dipole antenna (MDA) on a metal plate. By installing a metal plate between human skin and MDA, degradings of the radiation efficiency and the gain of MDA due to human tissue become smaller, and gain over 0 dBi can be achieved in the case of antenna close proximity of human skin. Under the condition of the MDA with a metal plate setting on a rectangular human phantom, simulation of antenna impedance and radiation characteristics is conducted. The simulated results are validated with the comparison with measured results using experimental human phantom made of agar. As the results, simulated results are coincide with those of measurement, and realized gain of 4.1 dBi was observed in the condition of setting the MDA with metal plate closely on the surface of the human phantom.
