[Invited Lecture] Vehicle Penetration Loss Characteristics for the shinkansen from 2GHz to 28GHz Bands

(in English) Mobile telephone operators around the world are now working hard to introduce 5G services. With 5G, 3.7, 4.5, 28 GHz bands are expected to be used to satisfy the various requirements, and the field trial for application to high-speed railway has been actively investigated. In this paper, in order to design the 5G area for the shinkansen, we clarify the vehicle penetration loss characteristics from the 2 to 28 GHz bands. From the measurement results, it was confirmed that the frequency characteristics of vehicle penetration loss are linearly decreased at about 0.39 dB/GHz, and the indoor loss characteristics are linearly decreased at about 0.38 dB/m. Also, we developed the vehicle penetration loss model based on measurement results and found that the RMSE value using proposed model is about 2.3 dB.
