Position estimation of capsule endoscope in high-definition numerical human body model

(in English) Capsule endoscopy is less invasive than conventional tube-type endoscopes, and is one of the most widely used imaging tools for internal digestive tract diagnosis at present. By adding the position information of the capsule endoscope to the time of imaging, it is expected to improve the power transmission efficiency, as well as the diagnostic accuracy by adjusting the number of images according to the position information. Therefore, research on position estimation of capsule endoscope has been actively conducted. As part of previous studies, analysis using simple human body models composed of only fat and muscle tissues were conducted. However, because the human body is composed not only by fat and muscle tissues, but also with many other organs of complicated shapes and structures, analysis using human body model of the higher definition is thought to be essential. In this study, analysis on position estimation using a high-definition numerical human body model were conducted, using Received-Signal-Strength algorithm.
