M2AO4:Mn5+ (M = Ca, Sr, Ba, A = Si, Ge) phosphors have been synthesized by solid-state reaction method. Their crystallographic and luminescent characteristics have been investigated. An infrared photoluminescence (PL) emission due to the 3d -3d internal transition in Mn5+ center is observed for all samples. This fact indicates that Mn5+ substitutes for Si4+ or Ge4+. The strongest PL intensity under 600 nm excitation is observed from the Ca2GeO4 host. Its PL intensity is stronger by 6.2 times than that of the Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2:Mn5+ nanoparticle phosphor synthesized by liquid-phase reaction method. |
