PL filter using guest host liquid crystal device (GH-LCD: liquid crystal with dichroic dye) has already been developed. Recently, the solubility of dichroic dye is achieved up to 8%. We evaluated the voltage-dependent transmittance in the case of both single and double GH-LCDs and the shielding performance for reflected light as PL filter. In case of the dense concentration, contrast of GH-LCD was 2. When second GH-LCD was set to shield polarized light passed through first GH-LCD, the contrast ratios increased. The reflected light quantity through single GH-LCD was shielded and controlled as changing applied voltage.
