A Highly Dense Frequency Hopping for High-speed Wi-SUN FAN Network

(in English) In recent years, the Wireless Smart Ubiquitous Network Field Area Network (Wi-SUN FAN) has been attracting attentions as a wireless communication standard for the Internet of Things (IoT), which is suitable for large-scale multi-hop networks such as smart metering systems.
Currently, Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) defined in IEEE 802.15.4 is adopted in the physical layer of the Wi-SUN FAN.
To improve network performances, a data rate enhancement scheme for FSK (i.e., high-speed FSK) has been proposed.
However, there is no evaluation of the effect on the transmission characteristics due to the data rate improvement in the physical layer of the Wi-SUN FAN.
In this report, we evaluate the transmission characteristics of the Wi-SUN FAN adopting high-speed FSK in the physical layer by computer simulation, and show that the bandwidth is increased but the system throughput is improved.
Furthermore, in order to improve spectral efficiency and compatibility with existing system designs, we propose a high-dense channel allocation scheme for frequency hopping.
The computer simulation shows the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
