Many rhythmic activities can be observed widely in living organisms. Such activities are essential as a commutation tool, pumps and, metabolism, e.g. a heart as a blood pump and calcium signaling in cell-cell communication. In the understanding of living systems or applying to novel productions with biocompatibility and biomimetic functions, it can be meaningful to develop and study artificial rhythmic materials mimicking living systems. We have developed some self-oscillating polymer capsules to date. In this paper, self-oscillating polymer capsules triggered and controlled by ambient pH and temperature are introduced. |
