Resource control by CCA time control based on carrier sense in LTE-LAA

(in English) As a means of high-speed and large-capacity communication, broadbandization of LTE communication is considered. However, in addition to the currently used license band, to use the unlicensed band, interference control with Wi-Fi that also uses the unlicensed band is required. A technique called LBT (Listen Before Talk) is considered as a technique of LTE-LAA (LTE-Licensed Assisted Access) interference control. However, there is a problem that access to Wi-Fi channels is hindered by LTE-LAA channel occupancy. As a solution to this, we consider controlling the time width of carrier sense in LBT. In LBT, LTE-LAA BS (base station) performs carrier sense prior to transmission, and confirms whether channel is used during sensing. If the channel is used by Wi-Fi, LTE-LAA BS waits for transmission. Therefore, if the carrier sense duration is long, Wi-Fi transmission is prior to LTE-LAA, and if it is short, LTE-LAA transmission is prior to Wi-Fi. In this report, we propose to control the LTE-LAA carrier sense duration to control the resources between LTE-LAA and Wi-Fi. In the proposed method, we control the channel access duration of Wi-Fi to control the CCA duration. By carrier sensing, LTE-LAA gets the channel busy duration when Wi-Fi is accessing the channel. When sum of busy duration is greater than the threshold B, LTE-LAA BS increases the carrier sense duration, and the LTE-LAA transmission priority is increased. When sum of busy duration is less than B, LTE-LAA BS increases the carrier
sense duration, and the Wi-Fi transmission priority is increased. Through computer simulation, we confirms that B is set large, Wi-Fi throughput becomes high, and when B is set small, the LTE-LAA throughput becomes high.
