A novel spatial multiplexing transmission system using orthogonality of orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode has been attracting attention with the growth of millimeter wave technology and the demand for higher speed and larger capacity transmission. Uniformly spaced circular array (UCA) is one of the candidates for generating multiple OAM modes simultaneously. However, due to the characteristics of the Laguerre-Gaussian beam, the quality of each mode varies with distance when using a single UCA with a fixed diameter. In this paper, in order to improve the quality and stability of each mode, we propose a maximum ratio transmission (MRT) scheme using multiple UCAs on the transmitter side. By adjusting the complex amplitude of each mode in all UCAs, we can increase the received power and reduce the quality fluctuation caused by the transmission distance. Simulation results assuming free space propagation show that high throughput is maintained over a wide transmission range by MRT even when the radius of the UCA on the transmitting side and the receiving side is fixed. In addition, even though there is ground-reflected waves, the proposed method maintains high throughput although the transmission range is narrowed. |
