Experimental Evaluation of a Magic-T based Variable Power Divider and Its Application to Polarization Agile Antennas

(in English) We have proposed a new spatial modulation system and several polarization agile antennas. To enhance the system, we also proposed a variable power divider consisting of a magic-T and variable phase shifter for continuous polarization angle control. In this paper, the concept and operating principle of the proposed variable power divider are introduced. The experimental performance evaluation and application to polarization agile antennas are also discussed. As a result of the prototype evaluation, the output power division ratio of the prototype variable power divider can be changed from 5.2 dB to -8.25 dB by changing the phase shift value of a phase shifter. When the output signals are fed to a dual-polarized antenna, the polarization angle changes from 0° to 44°.
