[Poster Presentation] Quantum algorithm for collision steps in lattice Boltzmann method

(in English) A quantum algorithm which simulates fluid flows based on the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) is developed. LBM is the method to predict fluid flows by discretizing not only the time and space but also the velocity of the particles and temporally developing the ensemble average of the particles with a certain discretized velocity, which is called the distribution function. The time evolution of the distribution function consists of the streaming steps based on the discretized velocity, the collision steps between particles which changes the velocity distribution on each lattie point. While the algorithm for the streaming steps has been already proposed, the algorithm approximately realizing the collision steps are developed in this reseach. Furthermore, by dividing lattice points into points where velocity reversal occurs due to obstacles and points where velocity distribution changes due to collision, the developed collision algorithm is added to the existing streaming algorithm. The developed algorithm is implemented and calculated on the quantum circuit simulator, and it is revealed that the result contains the effect of the collision steps.
