An Undersampling Frequency Detection Method Using Phase Difference of Clock Signals and Output Signals of Two S/H circuits

(in English) In this paper, an undersampling frequency detection method using phase difference of a clock and an output signal of two S/H circuits is proposed. Two S/H circuits are placed in parallel, and clock signals of each S/H circuits are set to have same frequency and different phases. The frequency of input signals of the S/H circuit is expressed by an integer number n, the frequency of the given clock signal and the frequency of the measured output signal of the S/H circuit. This integer number n is calculated uniquely by using the phase difference value between measured output signals and the set phase difference value between clock signals of two S/H circuits. The proposed method can identify the frequency of input signals by the simple calculation. The above calculation is performed for the number of frequency components of the output signal of the S/H circuit if multiple signals are input. The proposed method calculates the frequency of the input signal without increasing the measurement time by increasing the number of FFT processes and the RF circuit scale. Experimental results show that the proposed method can identify frequency of unknown input signals accurately.
