Transient Electromagnetic Radiation and Reflection Fields in the Terminal Sections of Microstrip Lines

(in English) For the analysis of electromagnetic characteristics of microstrip lines, analytical solutions for the electromagnetic reflection and radiation fields are difficult to derive. Several approximate theoretical and numerical investigations are reported in the literature. We have so far studied the electromagnetic fields of guided waves at junctions and corners, as applied to antenna devices, using FDTD numerical analysis applied to Laplace equation and Maxwell’s equations. In this paper, we investigated the transient behavior of radiation and reflection characteristics of electromagnetic field components microstrip lines of finite length, which are the basic components for antenna and high frequency circuit design. We have studied, axial and transverse components variation of electrical fields in the transmission line and free space near the terminal portions. Also studied are the frequency characteristics of radiation from mictrostrip lines with terminals of different structures.
