[Poster Presentation] Human Body Blocking at 35-50 GHz for inter-WBAN interference

(in English) Wireless body area network (WBAN) is a communication system that supports medical or non-medical applications between on-body nodes. We have studied about 60 GHz WBAN that is effective for inter-WBAN interference problem in a crowded condition. Body attenuation of a person between interfered and interfering users is very large at 60 GHz and enough to suppress an interference power. We have investigated that interference power of the 60 GHz WBAN is less than that of conventional microwave-band WBAN, however, it is not easy to ensure intra-WBAN communication link of 60 GHz WBAN. In this paper, a measurement is exhibited that of a human body blocking at from 35 GHz to 50 GHz assuming a person between interfered and interfering user, comparing with the knife-edge diffraction model. From the measurement, it is confirmed that the measured human body blocking is larger than the requirement for suppressing the interference at from 35 GHz to 50 GHz. Also torso-only knife-edge model and arm-edge knife-edge model approximate the measurement at body and arm edge, respectively.
