(in English) The introduction of split-PHY processing at intermediate nodes in a wavelength division multiplexed midhaul network is examined for a New York City metropolitan area network. The split-PHY processing locations and cost-effective PHY split options are evaluated with regard the traffic rejection rate and network throughput using network simulations.
