Requirements for a mobile terminal have been increasing such as a ultra-high definition (8K) video transmission. The fifth generation mobile communication system (5G) requires higher throughput and spectral efficiency in enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) scenario. NR, which is specified in the third generation partnership project (3GPP) for 5G, enables to improve the throughput by supporting frequency bands beyond 6 GHz for wider bandwidth. NR also supports a beamforming to enhance coverage in the high frequency band. However, performance of the 8K video transmission in 5G is unclear as far as authors know. This paper shows system level simulation results of the 8K video transmission in NR. |
