Estimation of Heat Stroke Patients in the Three Prefectures of Japan

(in English) The morbidity of heat-related illness increases in recent years, especially elderly patients occupy almost half of the all heat-related morbidity. It is essential to analyze the time evolution of body temperature elevation and sweating for evaluation of the adverse health effect for heat load on the human. In this paper, we computed the body core temperature elevation and sweating during two months in summer.. Then, we proposed a formula for predicting the number of elderly transported by ambulance The weighted-sum of daily water loss for two or three successive days is a promising metric. Additionally, the risk of heat stroke after the end of rainy season was twice as high as in the end of August.
