Full-color holographic optical element (HOE) to be used as an optical functioning screen for an augmented reality display was developed based on wavefront printing technique. Because one or more optical functions are implemented into one full-color HOE, display system can be downsized by using HOE screen instead of common optical components such as a lens, mirror and micro-optical array. We report experimental results of full-color reconstruction of projection-type lightfield and holographic displays by using the fabricated full-color HOE screens. |
