This paper proposes a sparse coding-based intelligent constellation diagram analyzer for optical fiber communications. In modern coherent optical transmission systems, the constellation diagram is adopted to display both amplitude and phase information, and comprehensively presents multiple performance metrics for signal analysis. However, the conventional constellation diagram analysis methods are strongly dependent on the professional expertise, which is only suitable for the experienced engineer. To realize real intellectualization and automation without manual intervention, we propose an intelligent constellation diagram analyzer by using sparse coding, which can analyze the conditions with a small amount of data and low-complexity. Simulation results show that the optical fiber transmitter conditions
can be estimated with high accuracy for targeting the 16QAM signal. |
