[Invited Talk (Young Researcher)] Analog radio-over-fiber transmission technology for mobile fronthaul networks

(in English) This invited paper discusses the potential of the Intermediate Frequency over Fiber (IFoF) technology for future mobile fronthaul links. First, a transmitter configuration composed of para llel intens ity/phase (IM/PM) modulators is presented . This transmitter enables to avoid dispersion induced RF power fading without restoring to complicated DSP. Next, a four state
chirp control scheme based on a d ual electrode Mach Z ehnder modulator DE MZ M ) is also presented. This can solve the issues associated with the parallel IM/PM transmitter in terms of the complexity and flatness of the frequency response. B y using these transmitter, we have successfully transmitted an IFoF transmission with a CPRI e quivalent data rate of 1 Tb/s.
