In the factory monitoring systems and smart meter, the application of wireless mesh network advances to realize no wiring and wide area. In wireless mesh network, a slave unit selects an appropriate communication path according to the communication environment, and communicates with a master unit by multi-hop. Therefore, it is suitable for the system which accommodates many terminals in a wide area. The determination of the communication route is performed autonomously based on the signal strength of the radio wave received from each peripheral handset, but the communication quality also depends on the installation location, interval, and number of radios installed. Also, in the event of a disaster, it is assumed that a valid route cannot be selected due to changes in the surrounding environment or radio equipment failures. Therefore, route selection parameters such as received signal strength thresholds that are set in advance may not be suitable for the installation environment. In this paper, we propose a method of applying reinforcement learning to the determination method of communication quality measurement parameter of route selection method in wireless mesh network, and aim at automatic determination of parameter suitable for installation environment of wireless device and improvement of communication performance. We also show that the communication performance of the wireless device after parameter learning is improved by computer simulation. |
