Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The tongue, also known as the mirror of whole body, reflects state of whole body and presents various changes. In the future, through unconscious observation of tongue in daily life, health monitoring and preventive medicine can be realized. As a key technology, the tongue with arbitrary exposure should be detected with high precision. Therefore, this study uses deep learning technology to automatically detect tongue (tongue extension) from face photos, detect whether tongue is protruded from face photos in the front processing, and extract protruded tongue shape in the back processing. The proposed method achieves high-precision tongue detection and tongue shape extraction.
