The goal of our development is to realize highly reliable wireless access for nano-areas using millimeter waves. Millimeter-wave communication systems with higher reliability will address traffic increase scenario, which cannot be achieved with the initial 5G system. In this study, we will examine a specific implementation method for cooperatively controlling millimeter-wave beamforming between Massive MIMO base stations by using software defined radio (SDR). In order to respond flexibly to different service requests, SDR is adopted to realize multiple wireless communication systems. We also discuss the beamforming technique that enables precise millimeter-wave beamforming for each of time, space, and frequency range. In addition, in response to RAN virtualization, we are also working on the realization of flexible inter-base station cooperation in millimeter waves by distributing and parallelizing the load of signal processing and optimization calculations. The presentation will discuss technical issues and future prospects. |
