[Poster Presentation] Considerations of car/bicycle/pedestrian detection method using Wi-Fi signal

(in English) The detection of cars, bicycles, and pedestrians can be used to prevent accidents and traffic congestion. Existing methods include detection using cameras, LiDAR, and embedded coils. However, these methods incur installation and management costs. In addition, it is difficult to distinguish between multiple types of vehicles as well as pedestrians using methods other than cameras. We propose in this paper a detection method for the line-of-sight environment using existing Wi-Fi devices. The signal emitted from the transmitter is reflected and diffracted by obstacles such as cars, bicycles and pedestrians. The changes in CSI (Channel State Information) of these signals are used to detect vehicles and pedestrians. In this presentation, we present the current methods and results, and report feasibility.
