[Poster Presentation] Error Probability Performance of a multiple access system using sparse superposition codes
Hayato Tachiwana, Yutaka Jitsumatsu (Kyushu Univ.)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Sparse Code Multiple Access (SCMA), which is one of the machine type communication methods in mobile communication, avoids serious interference between connected terminals by making its codebook sparse. In sparse superposition codes, which are error correction codes for Gaussian channels, codewords are created by multiplying randomly generated dictionary matrices by sparse vectors. SCMA and sparse superposition codes can be discussed in the same framework by introducing a matrix of codebooks for all terminals of SCMA. In this paper, we clarify the similarities and differences between SCMA and sparse superposition codes. In general, in wireless communications, the signal level varies depending on the movement of the receiving terminal, reflection and diffraction by terrain and buildings. In this paper, we assume the fading channel and evaluate the section error rate and bit error rate of sparse superposition codes.
