Comparative study of one-way vertical illumination and four-way oblique illumination in three-dimensional photoacoustic imaging using a hemispherical array transducer

(in English) Photoacoustic imaging is a non-invasive imaging technique that combines light and ultrasound. In recent years, medical applications are expected because of its high resolution and high penetration depth. For more accurate three-dimensional imaging, it is necessary to irradiate the visible region uniformly, so we have to think about the optimal irradiation method.
In order to achieve this objective, we imaged phantoms imitating blood vessels using vertical irradiation, which is the conventional method, and tilted irradiation from the four directions, which was the proposed method, for comparative purposes. For signal detection, a hemispherical array transducer developed in previous research was used.
