A study on manipulation of intrinsic localized mode using an impurity in nonlinear lattice

(in English) Spatially localized and temporally periodic solution appears in nonlinear lattice due to its nonlinearity and discreteness. The energy localization phenomena is called Intrinsic Localized Mode (ILM) or Discrete Breather (DB). Recently, a method to manipulate ILM is numerically and experimentally discussed in coupled cantilever arrays and electric lattices for technological application such as energy management in device. However, process of manipulating ILM is poorly understood. In this report, generation of ILM is numerically discussed in Klein Gordon lattice with driving force and dissipation. Consequently, it is found that ILM is generated through adiabatic process starting from excitation of impurity mode.
