[Invited Talk] Research and Development of Beyond 400 Gbit/s Optical Trasnsmission Systems
Hideki Maeda (NTT NS Lab.) PN2019-15
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) NTT was the first in the world to develop new technologies, promoted research and development of economical and reliable optical transmission systems, and introduced a 100 Gbps wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system in 2013. In order to cope with further traffic increase, we have conducted a long-distance field trial beyond 400Gbps with the aim of establishing the next generation 400Gbps / 1Tbps class optical transmission technology. In this report, we review the results of long-distance transmission experiments in the field environment of 400Gbps, 600Gbps, and 1Tbps transmission, and describe the elemental technologies for realizing them.
