A Study on a Performance Improvement by Cyclic Redundancy Check for Large-Scale SCMA Detection

(in English) SCMA attracts attention as a non-orthogonal multiple access method for device-to-device communi- cation. Generally, NOMA signal detection becomes difficult as the number of users increases, or the inter-user interference increases. SCMA is a kind of low density spreading, which can reduce inter-user interference to a certain extent, but interference cancellation is still required on the receiving side. In this paper, we use a Gaussian belief propagation (GaBP) method for signal detection in a large-scale SCMA system because the computation complexity of GaBP is proportional only to the square of the number of users. Furthermore, we add a CRC-aided stopping condition for GaBP iterative processing for each user, and evaluate the error rate performance of the frame and the average number of GaBP iteration. It has been found that good error rate performance can be obtained and the average number of iterations can be significantly reduced by using CRC.
