[Invited Lecture] Long Distance Communications using a Novel Testbed with Polarization MIMO-OFDM Systems for 5G Backhaul Applications

(in English) Many researches have paid attention to the 5th generation mobile radio communication systems, and the expectations for wireless backhaul become higher. This paper presents an E-band testbed for wireless backhaul applications. In this testbed, wideband OFDM is applied to compensate channel distortion including RF impairments. Polarization MIMO is also applied to generate orthogonal paths in the line-of-sight (LOS) environments. This paper shows the results of the field measurement at 900 m distance. We reveal that the transmission rate is
20 Gbps, and the communication distance is expected to be 5km.
