Along with the rapid progress of automotive Electrical/Electronic(E/E) architecture, further integration of multiple electronic control units (ECUs) becomes necessary. To meet requirements of the functional safety standard ISO26262, the interference between software pieces of different ASIL should be prevented. Although the virtualization is a candidate to prevent interference, virtualization overhead was the obstacle. In this paper, we focus on the hardware for integrating multiple ECU functions into a 28nm 600MHz automotive flash microcontroller supporting ISO26262 ASIL-D with a virtualization-assisted processor. We also show the evaluations results of the developed test chip. |
