Circuit Modeling of a Wireless Power Transfer System by the Impedance Expansion Method

(in English) The impedance expansion method (IEM) is a circuit modeling technique for electrically very small devices based on the method of moments. In the authors' previous work, a circuit model of wireless power transfer systems was obtained by utilizing the IEM and eigenmode analysis. However, its applicable frequency is only at approximately the operating frequency of the system because it considers only the fundamental modal current of the coils. In this report, a novel multimode circuit model that considers multiple modal currents is proposed, and its applicable frequencies in a broadband frequency range are discussed.
