A study on application of electromagnetic interference source estimation method to power electronics circuit by noise source amplitude modulation and correlation analysis

(in English) We propose a noise source estimation method using noise source amplitude modulation and correlation analysis (NSM-CA) to identify electromagnetic interference source for making EMI measures more efficient. In previous verification, if the target is a printed circuit board that has multiple digital ICs, it was possible to estimate ICs dominantly contributing to emission by using the proposed method. In this paper, we applied the method to a power electronics circuit and verified that it would determine dominant noise source MOSFETs. We tested two techniques to implement the noise source amplitude modulation to power electronics circuits on a Spice simulator; one uses the duty ratio and the other the switching frequency. As a result, the modulation technique using the duty ratio produced rather poor estimation of the noise source contributions, because of small modulation degree resulted accurate estimations. The NSM-CA method, thus, would estimate the contributions of noise sources to EMI of power electronics circuits by using an implementation technique of noise source amplitude modulation that produces large modulation degrees.
