The 1-kg-class optical transmitter (VSOTA) developed by NICT was mounted on a small satellite (RISESAT) developed by Tohoku University and launched in January 2019. VSOTA is currently in the initial operation phase from the checkout phase in order with the satellite bus and other sensors. At the optical ground station, we prepared facilities such as multiple guide lasers for uplink mounted on the coarse acquisition tracking telescope, two-dimensional sensors with different visual fields, laser ranging sub-system, receivers for optical communication, recording devices, etc. This paper describes the purpose and procedure of the experiment, as well as the equipment of the ground station and the operation status. |
