The frequency domain velvet noise (FVN) is a member of the time stretched pulse (TSP) in the broader sense
because the power spectrum is a constant at all frequencies.
FVN has design flexibility such as frequency dependent temporal spread, and asymmetry of its temporal envelope.
It also has high degrees of freedom in the parameter specification.
This technical report introduces the following applications and their specific procedures.
They are as follows.
a) Spectrum shaping adaptive to background noise.
b) Design procedure of FVN sequences orthogonal each other and its application to
multiple acoustic impulse responses simultaneously.
c) Test signal composition by mixing the above-mentioned FVN sequences and its application to
simultaneous measurement of the acoustic impulse response (linear component) and
nonlinear component.
We also provide an overview of the other possible applications.
The MATLAB source code and related materials are open-sourced and placed in a GitHub repository. |
