Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this paper, we propose a computational complexity-reduced algorithm for our previously reported adaptive peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction method using null space of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel for MIMO-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals. In the previous studies, we assumed an iterative clipping and filtering (CF) and projection of the peak reduction signal generated by the CF operation onto the null space in MIMO channel. However, since the fast Fourier transform (FFT) and inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) processes are included in each iteration of this algorithm, a reduction in computational complexity has been an issue to be solved. The proposed computational complexity-reduced algorithm is an extension of the peak cancellation signal-based method which is mainly investigated per antenna PAPR reduction. This method adds the peak cancellation signal, which is designed so that the out-band emission is removed/reduced, directly to the time-domain transmission signal at each antenna. By introducing the constraint so that the peak cancellation signal is transmitted only to the null space in MIMO channel, the proposed method achieves approximately the same PAPR-throughput performance as in the original method while the required computational cost is dramatically reduced.
